Listening To The Sky was commissioned by the Orchestra Of The Swan for 6 musicians to perform in the atrium space of Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, alongside sound-design played back over multiple speakers, on October 9th 2010. You can hear an excerpt here: Listening To the Sky
The score, which consisted of a one-hour loop, was performed throughout the day and was created by using Time Structured Mapping that integrated musicians performing from the balconies of the 5 tier atrium with a system of multiple independent speakers which in turn played material created in schools around the Birmingham area, also created using the same Time-Structured Map.
Pete is the Associate Composer of the Orchestra Of The Swan.
